i am beyond stoked to be making this announcement!! effective immediately, picture this is now offering professional makeup application with your senior session!! and here’s the icing on this week’s birthday cake: it’s offered at no extra charge to your session fee!!! i have been tinkering with this idea for a while now, and it wasn’t until i reached out to my fabulous friend and professional makeup artist, jennifer jarvis, that i realised it really could happen.
jen is a licensed cosmetologist with over 17 years of experience in the hair and cosmetic industry. in addition to working with local modeling agencies, she is also an independant consultant for beauticontrol cosmetics. her makeup arsenal not only includes beauticontrol products but those from other lines including bare escentuals. i am so thrilled that she has agreed to come on board. she is one of the kindest and most genuine people i know. you are going to LOVE her! and not just because she will make you look like a bajillion bucks!
our approach to the process is basic: enhancing your natural beauty while giving you a polished and professional finish. we’re not talking kabuki makeup here. think even skin tone, sparkling eyes and a fresh mouth. wait. that last part didn’t come out quite right. let’s take a look.
we needed a victi…errr model to give you an idea of what professionally applied makeup can do for your portraits, so jen’s daughter, cassandra volunteered (actually, i had to bribe her with a doughnut!!). she has stunning eyes, a great smile and truly looks fabulous without a drop of makeup:
jen’s goal is to enhance cassandra’s natural qualities and really make them shine! light foundation to even out skin tones and a finishing powder so that she doesn’t shine too much! (ha. ha. makeup humor!)
jen decided on subtle eye shadow and a little mascara for cassandra. seniors, we will work with your preferences when it comes to make-up. do you like liner and more dramatic eye? it can be done!!

now, even though cassandra was an uber fab model, i would love to have a junior/senior to work with! the first lady to e-mail me (with your parent’s permission if you are under 18) will receive a free makeup application and mini-portrait session. your session will be featured on the blog, and you will also receive a complimentary 8×10 or 2 sets of wallets – your choice!
