serious spring fever has set in. i can’t seem to get enough of outside. and dirt. and plants. i may pitch a tent in my backyard. i did manage to come inside for a bit this week. but that was only to…

eat radishes – the radishes from the market are amazingly good. i have been putting them in everything from sandwiches to chicken salad. make sure you buy the kind with the greens still attached. they are much fresher tasting that way.
get my kids ready for school and work – my son the landscaper brought me these home from the nursery. isn’t he sweet? i wonder if he can get me a job?
go shopping at tarzhay – i scored some cute shorts and tanks this week. and some really cool solar powered lanterns for the patio. or for when i’m camping in the back yard.
attack a sudoku puzzle – i am generally a crossword chick. however, the sudoku is growing on me.
download the new lower dens cd – i have been so busy that i totally forgot about this release!! i stumbled upon a review on pitchfork (an 8.2) and immediately downloaded it. an instant fave!!

after spending much of the weekend gloriously unplugged, it has been slow getting back into the electronic routine. i blame it on the intoxicating scent of fresh lilacs that has been perfuming our house since saturday.

the last 3 weeks have been an all-out assault on the very last shreds of my sanity. i think i may have survived in tact. the jury, however, is still out. my goal this weekend is to become one with mother earth and destroy the weeds that have grown so vociferously while i have been chained to my computer. my other goal is to not touch my computer all weekend. while i ponder these lofty goals, please ponder the following…

sherlock – this magnificent masterpiece mystery series returned for a 3 episode run on sunday night. please check your local listings and catch this wickedly fast and brilliantly written modern day interpretation of sir arthur conan doyle’s “high-functioning sociopath”. it’s genius!!
my parents – as i mentioned earlier in the week, my darling parents just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last weekend. aren’t they so cute??
the end of lacrosse season – tonight is my son’s final regular season lax game. i am going to miss watching him play. i am not going to miss the traveling. or the laundry.
donzell’s garden center – my oldest just got a summer job here. i hope they give family discounts!

as you may or may not know, i am on a 5 person relay team running the inaugural canton marathon. this is a big deal for our city, and a group of us decided to get in on the ground floor. our team name landed on the front page of yesterday’s paper!!

how did we come up with that name? ask me in person…

my family and i traveled to my hometown of pittsburgh this weekend to celebrate my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. it had been a while since i had seen it’s beautiful skyline from atop mt. washington…

jenna is my final hoover high school class of 2012 senior. *sob* but, man oh man, what a way to finish!! we were a little stressed that the shoot wouldn’t happen. the forecast was horrid – severe storms. however, the weather gods knew that this was jenna’s day and graciously proved the weather man wrong. not a drop fell and holy smokes did jenna rock it…

nails done? check. hair styled? check. makeup by my amazingly talented makeup artist jen? check. we headed out to find the azaleas in full bloom!! jenna wasn’t looking too bad either:))

with a heart the size of the sun and the personality to match, shane is one of those seniors who immediately brings a smile to your face. he always has a kind word to share. during our session, he shared with me that he would like to major in education and eventually teach 4th and 5th grade. it would be a perfect fit. i can totally see him being a school favorite!!

mother nature really messed with our shooting schedule, but once she cooperated, boy did she bring it. and speaking of bringing it… ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! this just slays me.

a varsity defenseman on the lacrosse team, shane plans to play in college. he looks so sweet but, trust me, i’ve seen him in game mode. that’s NOT so sweet;))
